Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Trini Necessities Online Store Ltd, trading as Trini Necessities (โ€œTrini Necessities,โ€ โ€œwe,โ€ โ€œus,โ€ or โ€œourโ€), collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you visit trininecessities.com, place an order, create a customer account, communicate with us, or otherwise use our services.

We respect the privacy of our customers and aim to collect and use personal information only where reasonably necessary to operate our business, process orders, provide customer service, arrange deliveries, maintain security, and meet applicable legal or administrative requirements.

By using our website or providing personal information to us, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with Trini Necessities.

Order & Contact Information

When you place an order or communicate with us, we may collect information such as:

  • Your full name
  • Telephone number
  • WhatsApp number
  • Email address
  • Delivery or collection address
  • Delivery instructions
  • Products ordered
  • Order history
  • Payment method
  • Order notes or other information you voluntarily provide

We request only information that is reasonably necessary to process and fulfil your order or respond to your request.

Customer Account Information

Creating a customer account is optional.

Most customers may place orders without creating an account. If you choose to create an account, information associated with your account may include your name, email address, telephone number, saved addresses, and order history.

Customer account functionality and authentication are provided through our Shopify-powered website.

When you contact us through WhatsApp, telephone, email, our website, social media, or another communication channel, we may retain information contained within that communication where necessary to:

  • Respond to your enquiry
  • Process or confirm an order
  • Resolve a customer-service issue
  • Verify delivery information
  • Maintain appropriate business records
  • Protect against fraud or misuse

2. Payment Information

Trini Necessities does not currently accept credit or debit card payments directly through our website.

Online card payments have been disabled because our current services are focused on local sales and delivery within Trinidad and Tobago.

Our primary payment methods include:

  • Cash on Delivery (COD)
  • Bank transfer or online banking
  • Other payment arrangements specifically approved by Trini Necessities

Because credit and debit card payments are not processed through our website, Trini Necessities does not collect or store your credit or debit card number, card security code, or card expiry date through our online checkout.

Bank Transfers

Where payment is made by bank transfer, we may receive or retain information reasonably necessary to identify and verify the transaction, such as:

  • Account holder or sender name
  • Amount transferred
  • Transaction date
  • Transaction reference number
  • Payment confirmation or receipt

We will never request your online banking password, PIN, security code, or login credentials.

Your bank or financial institution processes the banking transaction independently and may handle your information according to its own privacy practices.

5. Marketing Emails

Trini Necessities does not currently send promotional or marketing emails to customers.

Providing an email address when placing an order does not mean that you will automatically receive advertising or promotional emails from us.

We may, however, use your email address where necessary for legitimate transactional or customer-service communications, including:

  • Order confirmations
  • Order updates
  • Customer-service responses
  • Account-related communications

We encourage customers not to send highly sensitive information, passwords, PINs, or online banking credentials through WhatsApp.

7. Local Delivery & Courier Information

To complete local deliveries, certain customer information must be provided to the courier, TTPost, or another approved delivery provider.

This will generally include only information reasonably necessary to complete the delivery, such as:

  • Customer name
  • Telephone number
  • Delivery address
  • Relevant directions or delivery instructions
  • Amount to be collected for Cash on Delivery, where applicable

Delivery information is provided for the purpose of completing the customerโ€™s delivery.

We do not authorize our courier partners to use customer information provided by Trini Necessities for their own independent advertising or marketing purposes.

Third-party delivery providers may operate their own systems and procedures, and information handled directly by those providers may also be subject to their own legal obligations and privacy practices.

8. Shopify

Our online store is powered by Shopify.

Shopify provides the technology used to operate our website, checkout, customer accounts, order management, and certain related store functions.

As a result, certain information generated when you visit our website, create an account, or place an order may be processed through Shopifyโ€™s systems.

Shopify operates independently as a technology service provider and may process information in accordance with its own privacy practices and applicable agreements.

9. Cookies & Similar Technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate properly and provide website functionality.

Cookies are small data files that may be stored on your device when you visit a website.

They may be used for purposes including:

  • Remembering website preferences
  • Maintaining shopping-cart functionality
  • Enabling customer accounts
  • Website security
  • Fraud prevention
  • Understanding website performance
  • Maintaining sessions
  • Improving website functionality

Some cookies may be necessary for the website to operate correctly.

Depending on your browser and applicable website settings, you may be able to block or delete certain cookies. However, disabling essential cookies may affect how some parts of the website function.

10. Meta Pixel & Advertising Technologies

Trini Necessities has previously used the Meta Pixel in connection with Facebook and Instagram advertising.

At present, our Meta Pixel is disabled.

While disabled, we do not intentionally use the Pixel for active advertising measurement or audience tracking through our current website configuration.

If Meta Pixel or another advertising or analytics technology is enabled in the future, those technologies may collect or receive information about website activity for purposes such as:

  • Measuring advertising performance
  • Understanding website interactions
  • Advertising attribution
  • Creating or measuring advertising audiences
  • Improving advertising effectiveness

If our use of tracking or advertising technologies materially changes, we may update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

Third-party advertising platforms have their own privacy practices governing information processed through their services.

Where appropriate, information may be provided to a bank, financial institution, service provider, platform provider, delivery provider, or lawful authority for investigation or protection purposes.

13. How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or where retention is appropriate for legitimate business, accounting, legal, security, or record-keeping purposes.

Different types of information may therefore be retained for different periods.

For example, order and transaction records may need to be retained longer than ordinary customer-service enquiries.

When information is no longer reasonably required, we may securely delete, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of it where appropriate.

Certain information may also remain within backups or systems operated by third-party service providers for a period of time according to their normal retention procedures.

14. Security of Personal Information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction.

Measures may include appropriate organizational, technical, administrative, and physical safeguards.

However, no website, electronic transmission, cloud service, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Customers should also take reasonable precautions to protect their own account credentials and devices.

If you create a customer account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information.

15. Your Privacy Choices & Requests

Subject to applicable law and reasonable verification of your identity, you may contact us if you wish to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Update your contact details
  • Ask questions about how your information is being used

  • Raise a privacy concern

Some information may need to be retained despite a deletion request where retention is reasonably necessary for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, transaction-record, or other legitimate purposes.

We may request reasonable information to verify your identity before responding to a privacy-related request.

16. International Processing

Although Trini Necessities currently sells and delivers locally within Trinidad and Tobago, some of the technology platforms and third-party service providers used to operate our website may maintain systems or process information outside Trinidad and Tobago.

This means that personal information processed through services such as our website platform may, in some circumstances, be handled in other jurisdictions.

Where we use third-party service providers, their handling of information may also be governed by their own privacy practices and applicable legal requirements.

17. Childrenโ€™s Privacy

Our website is intended for customers who are capable of entering into purchases or doing so with the appropriate involvement of a parent or guardian.

We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information directly from young children for independent marketing purposes.

If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, they may contact us so that the matter can be reviewed.

18. Third-Party Websites & Services

Our website may contain links, buttons, integrations, or functionality provided by third parties, including social media platforms, WhatsApp, Shopify, delivery services, or other external services.

Once you interact directly with a third-party service, that provider may collect or process information independently of Trini Necessities.

We encourage customers to review the privacy practices of any third-party service they choose to use.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to:

  • Our business operations
  • Our website
  • Technology or service providers
  • Delivery procedures
  • Advertising or analytics practices
